Early Voting For Iowa City

For a while now, voters have had the opportunity to go vote for the next President of the United States of America by travelling to their auditor's office to cast their ballot. Now, voting stations are coming to you! University Residence Hall students can, for example, vote at either Burge or Hillcrest residence halls. Here's some of the other locations:

• Old Capitol Town Center, 201 S. Clinton St., open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday
• Mayflower Residence Hall, 1110 N. Dubuque St., open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today.
• Burge Residence Hall, 301 N. Clinton St., open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
• University of Iowa Main Library, 125 W. Washington St., open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
• Hillcrest Residence Hall, 25 Byington Road, open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday
• Iowa City Regency Mobile Home Community Building, 4455 Oak Crest Hill Road S.E., open from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
• Solon Middle School, 313 S. Iowa St., open from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday.

Here are some important things to remember for voting in Iowa:

• Bring Your ID - A state issued ID is helpful when voting. But in Iowa, you can, technically, vote on location by having any other Iowan (with their ID) vouch that you live in that district.
• You Don't Need Registered - In Iowa, you can register to vote at the polls.
• Say NO to a Provisional Ballot - Someone at the table might tell you to make a provisional ballot for one reason or another. Call 1-866-OUR-VOTE immediately and tell them the situation. That's the voter protection hotline.

If something seems fishy at your voting place, don't hesitate to call non-partisan voter protection at 1-866-OUR-VOTE.
