Samsung Galaxy SIII Beats Apple iPhone 5

The wireless world is always buzzing with the iPhone vs. Android battle. Currently the talk has been about the Samsung Galaxy SIII and Apple's new iPhone 5.

The Galaxy SIII came out a while ago, with the iPhone 5 following it. Usually, a decrease in the sales of the Galaxy SIII would be expected when the new iPhone came out, but it was not so this time around.

Sales records show that the sales of the Galaxy SIII did not slow down this year when the iPhone 5 was released. In fact, four out of the five best-selling weeks for the phone were actually after the iPhone was released, according to a statement issued by Samsung to CNET.

Why would this be?

There is a lot of speculation about why things happened this way. The most common theories surround ideas that people were waiting to see what Apple would do with its new iPhone 5 and they were not impressed with what they saw, so they went with the Galaxy SIII.

The Galaxy series, especially the new SIII has taken Samsung to the top of the smartphone world, beating out the iPhone, which has dominated for the most part for many years.

Samsung may have the smartphone business on lock right now, but Apple is still at the top of the technology world, even though this new phone line has allowed it to come nipping on the heels of the dominating force in technology.

The Galaxy line of phones has helped the company reach a quarterly profit of over $7 billion. This is almost as much as Apple has posted, which was just over $8 billion. At this rate, Samsung may be able to catch up with Apple at some point.

Predictions are that the Galaxy SIII will still be going strong through the holidays, and the two will remain in competition for the top of the smart phone business for some time.
